Liberals have Hijacked a Word

According to these definitions, it appears that liberal has primarily a political connotation, almost universally — but in fact, the word liberal, prior to its hijacking for political purposes, once had meaning all its own, and the words do not correspond with the behavior of most political liberals.

The old definition is flattering.  Unfortunately, today’s political liberals in the United States are anything but generous, tolerant, or kind.  Their generosity consists of disabling millions of unemployed Americans by channeling them into a cycle of poverty that leads to generational welfare, and then keeping them “in their place,” as a means of avoiding the real issues at hand: that America has no jobs to offer them, and no reason to educate them.

Liberals are only tolerant of people who don’t disagree with them;  everyone else is called a bigot or is not considered to be very open minded at all.  For instance, look at the case of gay marriage legislation:  are liberals tolerant of people who don’t believe in that?  Hm.  While you are thinking about this, consider nice home security alarm companies.
